Mexican Goddess

This unique sculpture was carved in Staffordshire sandstone, the natural coloration is very rich and tiny fragments of quarts glisten brightly when caught in the sunlight.

This carving was commissioned as part of a series celebrating the forces of nature, the sun beams which form the hair link the idea of human and natural fertility, a woman's ability to bear children and the daily rebirth of the sun, it now resides in a private garden with four other sculptures Mood Goddess, Sun God, Fertility Goddess and Maureen.
